Strattan - Mary Evans

Mrs. Mary Strattan Mary Evans was born in New Jersey Oct. 4, 1806, and was married to Daniel Stratton in 1824. She with her husband and three children emigrated to Ohio in 1829, and in 1856 came to Indiana and settled near Ladoga where the subject of this sketch spent the remainder of her life. Mrs. Strattan died, April 22, 1897, at her home in Ladoga. She was the mother of nine children, but one of whom, Nathan Strattan, of this place, is still living. For several years he has been the comfort and support of his aged mother, and no son was ever more careful and diligent in such a charge. The funeral service was held at the Presbyterian church Friday afternoon, conducted by Elder Joel Ridge. Interment was made in Ladoga cemetery
